Booking Terms and Conditions
When you sign up: When you sign up for the trip, you will receive a confirmation email from us including a payment request for the deposit. Paid deposit confirms your booking on the trip, and we will start start make your reservations of your booking. The remaining amount is due to be paid 35 days before arrival date and will be invoiced in Norwegian Krone.
If you cancel the trip: You can cancel the trip at any time by giving us written notice. If you cancel the trip, the following charges apply:
– 60 days or more before departure we retain your deposit.
– 59-30 days before departure 50% of the total cost of the trip.
– 29-15 days before departure 75% of the total cost of the trip
– Less than 15 days before departure 100% of the total cost of the trip
If we cancel the trip: Ethical Travel Portal reserve the right to cancel the trip if the number of participants is too low or unforeseen circumstances indicate that it is not safe to travel. Cancellation can be made up to 30 days before arrival date and the amount paid for land arrangement will be refunded immediately. Should any events outside of our local partners and Ethical Travel Portal’s control make it impossible or inadvisable to arrange the trip, the cancellation may be done later than 30 days before departure. Ethical Travel Portal reserves the right to change the itinerary, content etc due to matters that are out of our control.
Changes made by the traveller: If you request any changes to your itinerary after we have received your confirmation, any adjustments will be added on the travellers’ final invoice. In addition you may be charged a fee of 50 Euros if you want to change the itinerary after the confirmation or during your trip. We will do our best to make it happen, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible. In the event of such change (s) the traveller will be liable for cancellation charges that may occur due to earlier booked services and for any other added cost the changes may include. No refund will be given to the travellers.
Insurance: All travellers are required to have a valid insurance when they travel with us. You are responsible for your own travel insurance and to ensure that it covers the necessary assistance if needed. Check your insurance policy and make sure you are well covered.
Passports and Visas: The traveller is responsible for having a valid passport. The passport should be valid for more than six months after departure date.
Vaccination: The traveller is responsible for taking any necessary vaccinations. For more information contact your local vaccination office.
Travel Guarantee Fund: Ethical Travel Portal is a serious operator and therefore a member of the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund as a security for our customers.
“Pursuant to the Package Tours Act, all organizers of package travels must provide security covering their obligation to refund monies paid and for the repatriation of the traveler in the event of the organizor`s insolvency.”
Responsibility: Ethical Travel Portal AS and our local partner emphasise that we only act as agents for the owners, contractors and suppliers. We will follow the agreed itinerary, but we take no responsibility for any damage, delay of a passenger or the loss of property due to unforeseen events that are out of our control. Ethical Travel Portal AS has the right to make last minute changes in the itinerary if unforeseen events happens and make it difficult to follow the scheduled itinerary. The traveller is responsible for checking that the received travel documents are correct and that travel conditions are read. The traveller is responsible to keep all documents with them at all times. Loss of tickets, passports and visa has to be replaced on travellers cost. The traveller is responsible to keep us informed of any change of address. The traveller is also responsible for good behaviour, respect of local people and our partners to keep a safe and calm environment. The traveller is obliged to pay the agreed amount on the date set by the Ethical Travel Portal.
