Depending on your nationality you may or may not require a visa for the Gambia.


Visit The Gambia without a Visa?

If you are from the following countries you can obtain a 90-day visa on arrival: Great Britain, Australia, Canada and certain countries in the European Union (E.U.). If you are from the E.U. find out here if you’re eligible for a 90-day visa on arrival.

Members of commonwealth countries do not require a visa to enter The Gambia just a valid passport. If you are unsure if your country is a member, out of the 53 commonwealth countries you can check here.

Citizens of West African states such as Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo do not require a visa up to 90 days. You must also hold a valid passport and after 90 days will have to visit the department of immigration for regularisation of your stay.


Require a visa or unsure if need one?

If you are from the United States then you will require a visa. To obtain a visa you will need to apply via the embassy of the Gambia in Washington D.C.

If your country has not been listed here, check with your local Gambian Embassy if you require a visa. You can find your nearest Gambian embassy here.

Similarly, if you’re travelling from a yellow fever country you will have to produce a vaccination certificate irrespective of your country of residence.
