Yoga and local culture in Wild Montenegro
High up in secluded rock formations lay sacred medieval orthodox monasteries where rare birds inhabit and tales of many legends loiter. Delve into the history of Montenegro’s architectural hidden gems across a range of landscapes. Visit rural settlements meeting Shepherds showing you beekeeping, goat farming and honey production. Listen to ancient stories of the locals. All while practising vinyasa flow yoga in untouched Montenegrin wilderness.
This trip combines yoga with nature and cultural experiences. Every morning we start the day with a yoga practice, tailored to what the day will bring and set the scene for the day. The yoga is suitable for all levels. The leader and yoga instructor of this trip is the Founder of Ethical Travel Portal, Linda. During the journey, we will also have a local guide with us to give insight to the Montenegrin secrets.
Montenegro is a country for outdoor enthusiasts, full of mountains, jade green lakes, waterfalls and valleys. It is the ultimate hiking destination. Montenegrin nature and wildlife is incredibly diverse home to over 270 species of birds and many Mediterranean plants. Housed in its peaceful settlements reside, farmers and fishermen employing traditions their ancestors used.
A rich history and culture rest on Montenegro soil. You can witness influences on architecture from Christianity, Islam, Ancient Rome, the Ottoman Empire and Austria/Hungary. Not to mention it only gaining independence from Serbia back in 2006. Due to its fascinating past, many legends and folktales are surrounding its landscapes.
View nature at the edge of Pearl Durmitor, basking in the beauty of the black lake. Life continues into unspoilt rivers and waterfalls where you will indulge in organic Montenegrin dishes.
