Did you know you don’t have to be that active to appreciate Nepal’s wonders? The two major cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara are perfect towards a slower-paced adventure to accommodate all family members. That way children can enjoy as well as adults, making it a trip for all.

The trip commences in the capital, Kathmandu. Whilst there you will learn about the history, visit holy Hindu and Buddhist sights that have shaped the country that it is today. Next, you’ll visit the picturesque Pokhara, do light trekking around Dhampus and the Australian camp. All whilst taking in the fresh air and the stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range. Finally, you and your family will have a day at your leisure to chill by the serene Phewa Lake in Pokhara to re-vitalise. You will return to a former heritage city of Bhaktapur tasting local delicacies. Finally finishing back in Kathmandu.

Day 1: Welcome to Nepal!
Welcome to Nepal and the vibrant busy capital of Kathmandu. Today, you will be transferred from the airport to your destination. Upon settling in, if time permits you will take a mesmerising sunset walk to Soyambhunbath also known commonly as the monkey temple. It’s also the oldest stupa in Kathmandu. Afterwards, we will have a scrumptious traditional dinner at Bhojan Gira a heritage site.

Day 2: A day to explore Kathmandu Valley!
Wake up refreshed and energised with breakfast. As per worldpopulationreview Kathmandu is home to over 985,000 people. Amongst them are many ethnicities and religions. Today after breakfast we will take an easy tour to Pashupatinath a sacred Hindu temple. As well as Boudhanath stupa a Buddhist temple. Both are UNESCO World Heritage sites and by visiting them you will witness two of the biggest religions that contribute to Nepal’s culture. Then, devour a late lunch and have a relaxing afternoon at your leisure. Later you will have a briefing about your upcoming trek at our office.

Day 3: Morning scenic flight to Pokhara and hike to Dhampus
Enjoy an early breakfast today and then we’ll leave for the airport. If the weather is on our side, prepare for a breathtaking scenic morning flight over mountains to Pokhara. This flight will give you a glimpse of the beauty you’re about to witness over the next few days. Don’t worry if long journeys are not for you or your children, this is a short flight taking around 25 minutes. Upon arrival into Pokhara, we will drive to the town of Phedi, taking around 30 minutes. Once in Phedi, we will undergo a small uphill hike of about three hours to reach the stunning village of Dhampus. Get your camera ready for some special family photos. As this village has magnificent views of the gorgeous Annapurna range!

Day 4: Goodbye Dhampus, Hello Australia Camp!
Try and wake up early today to catch the gorgeous sunrise over the Annapurna! After your breakfast, we re-commence a light trek for three hours to the Australia camp. This is another destination that provides epic scenery of the mountains. We hope these two days will provide you with a wonderful impression of how trekking works in Nepal. Likewise just how great and easy it is for families!

Day 5: Day at your leisure in Pokhara
Are your muscles a little tired or sore after the past few days? Today we only have a small walk around one hour and a half. This will lead us to the roadside and from there we will get a car to the loveable destination of Pokhara. You have the afternoon at your leisure to wander around free today. Pokhara is home to the serene Phewa Lake. Next to the lake are many restaurants, shops and cafes. Sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Pokhara lakeside.

Day 6: Explore Pokhara and later arrive at the former heritage city of Bhaktapur!
Did you enjoy your afternoon in Pokhara yesterday? Well, this morning we have more time and in Pokhara. If you would like, we can visit a beautiful waterfall and (bat caves) on our tour this morning.   Later, we take a short flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we will drive to the ancient city of Bhaktapur. This used to be one of three ancient cities, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and Patan. It has its own special history which you will discover during your time there. Its Durbar Square is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and has been restored. This is one of the top attractions within the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 7: Morning in Bhaktapur then back to Kathmandu
Wake up bright and early today as we will do the dawn trip to Bhaktapur. On this, you will discover how the ancient city wakes up. Afterwards, we will visit a yoghurt making family that has been preparing Nepal’s most famous yoghurt. They have been making this scrumptious curd for centuries. This afternoon we drive back to Kathmandu for a farewell dinner at a traditional Bhutanese restaurant.

Day 8: Departure
Say goodbye to Kathmandu and make the most. Why don’t you take a wander through Thamel and get some last-minute souvenirs before your flight home? We hope to welcome you back to Nepal soon.
